Releasing Of Japs Opposed By Machinists

Condemning the release of Japanese from relocation centers during the war, the tri-state conference of the International Association of Machinists yesterday adopted a resolution urging that Japanese confined in the centers be treated as prisoners of war.

The meeting marked the end of the three-day session here.

The conference also suggested that American youths taken from school to serve in the armed forces be permitted to complete their education before being released from service.

A demand was made that Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker withdraw his charges against labor if they cannot be substantiated by the record.

Presiding at the conference was B.F. Carpenter, president of the Washington Machinists' Council.
