DON'T FREE JAPS, GRANGERS ASK

YAKIMA, June 18.--(AP)--The Washington State Grange, in convention here, resolved yesterday to urge the proper government authorities to keep Japanese in relocation centers for the duration of the war.

Members reelected ten officers, including State Master Henry P. Carstensen of Almira, and named four new officers.

Others reelected were Henry Roberts, Waitsburg, overseer; Ira Shea, Seattle, lecturer; Raymen Paulson, Plaza, steward; Mrs. Beryl McCauley, Spangle, Pomona; Mrs. Agnes Johnson, Seattle, Flora; Mrs. Olive Rutledge, Little Rock, chaplain; Fred Nelson, Seattle, treasurer; K.T. Knutson, East Stanwood, secretary, and Elmer J. Anderson, Lynden, gatekeeper.

New officers were Ralph Hedges, Chelan County, assistant steward; Mrs. Helen Trefry, Chelan County, Ceres; Mrs. Maybelle King, Pullman, lady assistant steward, and Mrs. Rita Carstens, Lamona, home economics chairman.

Fred J. Chamberlain, Puyallup, by unanimous vote was accorded a life membership on the executive committee. Heye H. Meyer of Vancouver was elected to the executive committee for a three-year term.
