Magnuson Would Keep Japs Off West Coast

WASHINGTON, May 26.--(AP)--Representative Magnuson, Democrat, Washington, said in a statement he was opposed to permitting any Japanese to return to the West Coast until after the war is ended.

Magnuson said that undoubtedly "there are a few loyal Japanese but I can't see the benefit of breaking a rule that is going to provide benefits for everybody to aid a few."

"All Japanese, American-born or aliens, should be kept off the Coast and be kept in the interior until the war is over," the representative said. "It is unfortunate but war is war and we must win it."
