Japs' Camp Faces Shortage of Labor
HUNT, Idaho, April 24.--(AP)--So many Japanese-American residents of the Minidoka relocation center are obtaining jobs outside the project that the center's huge victory garden may suffer from a labor shortage.
Center officials said volunteer crews of men and women, young and old, from all departments were working in the garden, caring for these plantings: Beans, 30 acres; broccoli, 10; cabbage, 20; carrots, 20; sweet corn, 20; table beets, 10; lettuce, 20; peas, 25; radishes, 20; rutabagas, 10; squash, 10; onions, 25; tomatoes, 10; turnips, 10; potatoes, 70.
