CALIF. LEGION WOULD OUST JAPS

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19. -- (AP) -- California's American Legionnaires, in concluding sessions of their 23rd annual convention, today took hearty slaps at United States Japanese, communism, Harry Bridges, conscientious objectors and willful slowing of war production.

By adopted resolution the 2,000 delegates recommended that:

Japanese now interned be returned to Japan at the end of the war.

Certification of the Communist Party to the August 25 ballot be investigated and immediate action be taken to block it.

It became a felony to refuse to serve in armed services in time of war.

To Hurry Bridges Deportation

Deportation of Harry Bridges be speeded.

There be immediate, universal draft of labor, industry, capital, natural resources and agriculture for the war effort.

Second World War veterans be admitted to the Legion.

Foreign-language schools be immediately suppressed.

Foreign-language publications be compelled to publish parallel English translations.

A constitutional amendment make it possible for persons of Japanese ancentry [ancestry] to become citizens, regardless of place of birth.

Any willful slowing of war production is treason and legislation so classifying it be passed.

Any Japanese be prohibited from owning or operating any fishng [fishing] vessel in United States waters.

Federal laws be passed setting a definite maximum time limit for alien residence before ctizenship [citizenship] application is made. Deportation to follow overstays.

The delegates shouted down a proposal to survey men now in service to determine if they wanted to join the Legion.
