JAPANESE DISPLACE WHITES AT CHEHALIS
Labor Strike Follows the Advent of Asiatics Employed by a Lewis County Lumber Company.

CENTRALIA, Monday, April 15. The Chehalis River Lumber Company, of this city, is in trouble owing to the employment of four Japanese workmen. As soon as it was known that the four Japanese had been engaged the whole force of white men employed by the company walked out, with the exception of one man who was to hold the position of boss over the imported Japs. The strike extended to all the men engaged in logging in connection with the company. Many of the strikers had been with the company as long as three and four years.
