Jap Ask to Fight For U.S. in Europe

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1. -- (AP) -- Some Japanese in the Manzanar war relocation center want to fight for the United States, Roy Nash, director of the center, told the Commonwealth Club yesterday.

A number signed a petition to the President and sent it last week, Nash said, asking they be allowed to fight on the European Front. Nash cited the petition as evidence of the loyalty he said many of the Japanese had for the United States.
