Jap -- Knows No English -- Halted Near Boeing's

Mohei Nakamura, 70-year-old Japanese, was being held without charge in the city jail today for investigation by the police national-defense detail after he was arrested while driving an automobile down a little-used road just north of Boeing Field and near Airport Way about 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Patrolmen Phil Drange and P.C. Leland said Nakamura apparently could not understand the officers when they questioned him. His daughter, Yasuko, who telephoned police headquarters at 8:15 o'clock to report her father missing, said the elderly Japanese does not speak English.

Miss Nakamura said her father had left their home at 6500 Ursula Pl. at 11:30 o'clock yesterday forenoon to register for evacuation at the civil control station at 1319 Rainier Ave.
