Several Japanese books and two boxes of .38-caliber cartridges were found yesterday by Mrs. Zelda Israel, 1520 E. Fir St., in a vacant lot near her home, she reported to police last night.
Mrs. Israel said she was picking flowers late yesterday afternoon when she discovered the bullets and books, wrapped in oilcloth and hidden in a large metal can. She turned the articles over to Patrolmen J.F. Thompson and A.L. Pedersen.
