Workers Kick; Japs Quit; Now it's Worse

PORTLAND, Or., March 19.--(UP)--Congress of Industrial Organizations unionists had a chuckle or two today at the expense of some of their Japanophobe members.

As one source put it:

"For several weeks, about six of our men have been moaning about the Japanese C.I.O. men working at the West Oregon Sawmill. The 42 Japanese, many of them American citizens, left the job voluntarily today because they did not want any trouble. As a result, the company had to suspend a night shift because of insufficient labor.

"The six who campaigned against the Japs now are laid off and are condemning them because they left."
