Enemy Aliens Sought in City

Four enemy aliens, two Japanese and two Germans, who were reported to have entered the United States at Republic, Ferry County, yesterday, eluding the border patrol, were being sought here today as part of a state-wide hunt.

Sheriff Jack Windsor of Republic reported that he and the Republic chief of police assisted border patrolmen in an unsuccessful all-night search for the automobile which the aliens were using.

The aliens were driving a 1931 Ford convertible coupe with a box on the rear, according to word received here. The coupe is believed to have either Nevada or Nebraska license plates.

This description was given by the State Patrol in a state-wide broadcast shortly before noon today.
