U.S. Shouldn't Depend on Jap Growers, Solons Told

Seattle should not "depend upon the enemy to feed it," I.W. Ringer, secretary of the Seattle Retail Grocers' Association, said today in a telegram to Congressman John H. Tolan, chairman of the congressional committee investigating defense migration.

"Americans should not have to depend on agricultural products produced by Japanese, who, in some areas, admit controlling 95 per cent," Ringer telegraphed.

"Dust bowl farmers who have arrived here recently, as well as Filipinos and Chinese, will take their place if given an opportunity."
