MAY FORM LEAGUE AGAINST THE JAPS

Central Labor Council Preparing to Organize to Restrict Coming of Orientals.

The Central Labor Council last night named a special committee to begin an organization to restrict the coming of Japanese and Koreans. A letter from San Francisco urged a subordinate organization to the California society, but the local labor leaders decided to act independently.

Alice Lord, business agent of the Waitress' Union, was elected financial secretary of the Central Labor Council. Five delegates from the Ballard Shingle Weavers' Union joined the central organization. The council also approved the political action of the Workingmen's League.
