Japanese, Ill, Hangs Self in Basement

Torizo Sawada, 56 years old, Japanese, hanged himself in the basement of his home, 435 23rd Ave. S., yesterday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner C.L. (Ted) Harris and John P. Brill, Jr., said Sawada's son, Henry, told him his father had been ill, and recently had returned from a hospital. Sawada left a note asking that his friends attend his funeral.

The body was taken to the Home Undertaking Company mortuary.
