U.S.-Japanese Schools Likely To Stay Closed

Unanimous adoption of a resolution by the national board of the Japanese American Citizens' League, opposing the reopening of any Japanese-language schools in the United States, was announced today in Seattle by James Y. Sakamoto, board member and one of the founders of the league.

The resolution stated reopening of the schools would arouse suspicion and misunderstanding of the loyalty of Japanese in America to the United States and subject the school children to possible violence. It also condemned efforts of persons to reopen the schools as untimely and unwise.

The Japanese language School in Seattle at 1414 Weller St., did not open December 8.
