Ancient Jap Knives, Swords, Held by U.S.

SAN FRANCISCO, Saturday, Jan. 17.--(AP)--The Yamanaka brothers surrendered a beautiful and murderous-looking collection of Japanese swords, spears, daggers and arrows to the government yesterday and asked that they be carefully guarded, if it wasn't too much trouble.

Albert and Morgan K. Yamanaka, San Francisco American-Japanese, regarded the swords as objects of art, but yielded to the government's opinion that they were deadly weapons.

The Yamanaka brothers were required to surrender the $35,000 collection, handed down by their ancestors, because they live with their parents, who are aliens.
