EPIDEMIC AFTERMATH AMONG THE JAPANESE
Seven Cases of Typhoid Found During Past Week in the Downtown Colony.
Within the past week seven Japanese have been taken to the Seattle General Hospital with typhoid fever. None of the cases are particularly serious and City Physician Ludlow does not believe that the epidemic of the disease, which has died out largely among the white residents of the city, has spread generally in the Japanese colony.
"I do not think, from my investigations, that there are any more than the seven Japanese who have the disease at the present time," said Dr. Ludlow this morning. "I have been through the district pretty thoroughly and find no indications of any more cases. There is nothing for the Japanese of the city to be alarmed about from the fact that half a dozen of their people have been taken ill in a short space of time."
