Japanese Victimized by Bogus Collectors

Capt. William R. Jarrell, head of the Seattle Secret Service office, today warned that two men and a woman, who have been attempting to collect bogus license fees from Seattle Japanese, still are at large. Jarrell said he has asked police to keep a sharp lookout for the trio.

The trio has been visiting Japanese rooming-houses and hotels demanding fees for licenses to operate such establishments. He said aliens may receive licenses only through the Federal Reserve Bank and that no collectors have been sent out by the government for this purpose.
