Two-Thirds of State Japs in King County

Washington, Oregon and California have 88.5 per cent of the total Japanese population of the United States, the Department of Commerce informed the Associated Press today.

King County, with 9,863 Japanese, of whom 3,896 are foreign-born, has two-thirds of the Washington population, according to the latest census. Pierce County is the only other Washington county with more than 500 alien Japanese.

California has 93,717 Japanese, of whom 33,569 are foreign-born. Multnomah County, Or., has 2,390, of whom 968 are aliens. Los Angeles County has 36,866 Japanese, of whom 13,391 are aliens.
