Banks Refuse To Honor Jap's Food Stamps

Seattle banks cannot honor food stamps presented by Japanese nationals. R.T. Symms, assistant manager of the Seattle Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, said here today. It is expected the ban, which forbids any financial transaction between a United States citizen and a Japanese national, will be extended at once to German and Italian nationals.

Food stamps indorsed by a Japanese national but presented by a citizen will not be accepted.

The stamps are issued by the Federal Surplus Commodities Corporation.
