Arai, Japanese Attorney, Seeks To Rejoin Army

Clarence Arai, Seattle lawyer of Japanese descent, said today that he was attempting to regain his commission in the United States Army and to fight in the present war against Japan.

Arai said that his commission as a captain in the Army Reserve was terminated last June, because of physical disability, but he hoped he was in sufficiently good health now to rejoin the Army.

"As an American citizen, I wish to serve this country as best I can," Arai said.
