Fair Play Asked For Japanese

"Fair play" in the treatment of Japanese children attending schools was urged by Miss Nina O. Buchanan, county school superintendent, in a letter to superintendents and teachers of all county schools outside the city.

"Every child born under the American flag is an American citizen and is entitled to protection and consideration." Miss Buchanan's message said. "Every school where Japanese children are enrolled has an opportunity to promote the spirit of fair play and the golden rule."

Miss Buchanan asks that schools be conducted "as usual insofar as possible" during the present emergency.
