Japanese Army Got Aid From L.A. Residents

LOS ANGELES, Thursday, Nov. 13.--(UP)--The Federal Bureau of Investigation has seized from Japanese organizations here a "large quantity" of records containing receipts for funds sent to the Japanese army and navy, it was learned today.

The records were taken from the headquarters of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and the Central Japanese Association here, competent sources said.

Several present and past officers of the Central Japanese Association were questioned by F.B.I. agents.

They admitted that "gratuities" had been sent to the Japanese military and navy, but that they had stopped when President Roosevelt proclaimed an unlimited national emergency.
