Baby was 14 months old before father saw it
When William Hosokawa, Seattle-born Japanese, returned to his home here from the Orient last week, he saw his son, Michael, 14 months old, for the first time.
Mr. and Mrs. Hosokawa formerly lived in Singapore, where he was editor of The Singapore Herald an English newspaper. Because of the war, Mrs. Hosokawa returned to Seattle in May, 1940. Shortly after she became the mother of a son. The parents had agreed that if the baby were a boy, he would be named Michael.
Hosokawa returned here recently because he said that if he hadn't left then, he didn't know how long he would have to remain in the Orient. The Hosokawas plan to make their home in Seattle. They now live at 158 22nd Ave.
Hosokawa says he will "take it easy for a while," before settling to something definite. He was graduated from Garfield High School in 1933 and the University of Washington in 1937.
