JAPANESE PROUD TO HELP U.S.

Bearing signs which read: "Seattle Japanese Loyal to America. Proud To Do Our Share," the members of the Seattle Japanese community climaxed the city's aluminum drive with a flourish yesterday afternoon by taking a truckload of old aluminum to the depository in front of the Metropolitan Theatre. The load was tossed onto the mountainous heap piece by piece. The girls receiving the aluminum in this photograph are Tomoe Tada (left) and Mary Kawamura. W. Walter Williams, chairman of the King County Defense Council, was present (extreme lower left). Behind him is M. Shiraishi, president of the Seattle Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
