Japanese Run Out of Hop Fields.

UKIAH, Cal., Saturday, April 22. -- The white population of Round Valley was thrown into a fine state of excitement last week by the importation of a crew of Japanese by the American Hop & Barley Company to work in its fields and a petition was quickly circulated asking the company to discharge the Orientals. As the petition received no attention a mass meeting was called to rid the valley of cheap labor and committees were appointed to take such steps as should be deemed necessary. The manager of the company concluded that it was time to do something and averted trouble by discharging the Japanese. They landed in this city today.
