Japanese Will Give Reception For Symphony

Mrs. I. Okamoto, wife of the Japanese consul, has been named general chairman of a reception which Japanese patrons of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra will give in the interests of the Artist Series next Tuesday at the D.A.R. Chapterhouse at 8:30 o'clock.

Organizing an active committee to work for the symphony for the first time in the history of the orchestra, Japanese residents of Seattle are entering the season ticket campaign with enthusiasm.

Meeting yesterday afternoon at Mrs. Okamoto's home were the following committee members: Mrs. B. Sawada, Mrs. M. Ikoma, Mrs. E. Wakadayashi, Mrs. S. Fukuda and Mrs. M. Mishida. Also represented were the junior group, composed of Aeolian Society members, who are assisting with the reception. They include Miss Sachiko Ochi, chairman of the Artist Series drive; Miss Hannah Kosaka, assistant chairman; Miss Hisa Kurosaka, Miss Teru Watanabe, Miss Waka Mochizuki, Miss Masako Hotta, Miss Suyeko Ochi and Miss Michiko Morita.

Dr. Basil Cameron, conductor of the symphony, will be on the program for the reception, Mrs. Okamoto said.
