Seattle Teacher Is Honored Guest On Visit to Tokyo
MRS. EDNA MAHON, who as principal of the Bailey Gatzert School has seen more Japanese than Occidental children on her roster, and who is including a visit to Japan on her summer vacation schedule, was the guest of honor at a welcome party given in Tokyo by the Pan-Pacific Club July 13, according to word received yesterday by H. Hoshida, Japanese consul in Seattle.
Among the Japanese officials who greeted Miss Mahon were Prince Iesatot Tokugawa, honorary president of the Pan-Pacific Club; the Viscount K. Inouye, president, and Ambassador Matsudaira.
Miss Mahon is one of the group of teachers from Seattle making the trip to the Orient this summer.
