OPPOSED TO JAP LABOR
Local Unions Ask for an Investigation of the Influx of Brown Men.

The arrival of hordes of Japanese laborers on the Sound, as announced in The Times, has resulted in action by the labor unions. At a meeting of the Western Central Labor Union held last evening a committee was appointed to make a complete investigation of the matter. President R.W. Moulton and Vice President Robert Pevler of the Union, who were appointed on the committee, were instructed to wait upon the immigration agents and ascertain what official action had been taken in the matter. The labor unions claim that both the contract and pauper labor sections of the immigration laws are being violated. The union officers stated last evening that if evidence of violation of the law could be secured prosecution would be commenced against the guilty parties.
