Japanese Scrapper Stops Californian In Three-Round Go

Bobby Keefe, a long, lanky kid who hails from San Francisco, was no match for Georgie Ishii, the sensational little Japanese featherweight, last night in the main event of the Austin & Salt amateur smoker. The little son of Nippon plastered the Californian with a choice variety of gloves and Referee Ted Whitman stopped the one-sided battle in the third round to save Keefe from furthere [further] punishment.

Other results were: Dutch Keyser won decision over Kid "Fatima" Samar; Harry Mills won T.K.O., second round, over Roco Antic; Dick Butler won K.O., third round, over Dave Manning; Charles Wilson won K.O. over Victor Pisoni; Tony Tonto won decision over Dub Hohman; Jene Bell won K.O., first round, over Jim Witter; Earl Brack won K.O., second round over Charles Kucherski; Red Cameron and Nano Phillips went three rounds to a draw.
