Naturalization of Japanese Held Up

WASHINGTON, Thursday, Sept. 30. A second postponement of arguments in proceedings involving the right of the Japanese to become citizens of the United States will be asked of the Supreme Court when it convenes Monday, it was announced by Solicitor-General Frierson.

The case at issue resulted from the denial of citizenship in Hawaii to Takao Ozawa, a Japanese, and was cited in the Supreme Court in 1917.

Arguments were deferred last term at the request of the government for diplomatic reasons.

The solicitor-general said the second postponement would be at the request of George W. Wickersham, former attorney-general and counsel for Ozawa.
