Japanese Approve Elimination of Picture Brides

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, Dec. 4. -- Japanese after a three-day session here decided not to repudiate action of the board of directors of the Japanese Association of America which asked for the abolition of the "picture bride" practice, N. Kanzaki, secretary of the association, announced.

"The delegates felt that the picture bride practice should be passed on finally by the governments of the United States and Japan," Kanzaki said. "They determined, therefore, that as far as the association was concerned, the issue should be stripped of all legal and technical phases, but that the association should lend its full moral support toward the elimination of the picture bride practice."
