JAPANESE ASSEMBLY PLEDGES LOYALTY TO AMERICA

Convention Gathered in Seattle Sends Formal Message to President Wilson.

Members of the Japanese associations of the Pacific Coast, who have been in convention in Seattle since July 1, yesterday sent a telegram to President Woodrow Wilson pledging anew their loyalty and support of the government for a victorious prosecution of the war.

The message, which was forwarded in the name of the United North American Japanese Association of Seattle, is as follows:

The Japanese Association of America, of San Francisco; the Central Japanese Association of Southern California, of Los Angeles; the Oregon Japanese Association of Portland; the United North American Japanese Association of Seattle, and the Japanese Association Canada, assembled on this third day of July, 1918, in annual convention at Seattle, extend greetings to Honorable Woodrow Wilson, President of the United States of America, in commemoration of the Declaration of Independence, and pledge their loyalty to a principle for which America has always stood and their support to the government for the victorious prosecution of the war.

The convention is closing today, with the delegates taken on a sightseeing trip to Tacoma and Camp Lewis.
