Urges Removal of Bars to Orientals

Dr. Sidney L. Gulick, author and lecturer, in all address before the China Club yesterday afternoon made a plea for removal of the "humiliating race discrimination" in America against eh Chinese and Japanese.

"These countries do not expect free immigration," explained Dr. Gulick, "but they do ask that we recognize and respect their national honor and dignity and live up to our treaties with them."

Dr. Gulick said the doors of citizenship should be opened to Chinese and Japanese, to as many as this country can Americanize, the maximum to be a definite per cent of the total American-born children plus those who have become naturalized. The latest census, he said, should be the basis for the work.
