AGAINST CHANGE IN ALIEN-LAND STATUTE
SACRAMENTO, Cal., Saturday, Jan. 23. -- Gov. Hiram W. Johnson placed himself squarely on record today as opposed to any amendment to the anti-alien land act passed by the California Legislature in 1913.
He indicated that if the Shartel bill, introduced in the assembly yesterday and eliminating the three-year leasing clause, passed the Legislature it would meet with the executive veto.
