JAP PHOTOGRAPHS TACOMA ARMORY

Excitement Stirred Up in City of Destiny by Action of Little Nipponese.

TACOMA, Saturday, April 29. -- The discovery that a Japanese has photographed the local national guard armory from nearly every possible angle has caused something of a stir here. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney A.O. Burmeister tonight called the matter to the attention of federal authorities, but there is only a slim chance of running down he Nipponese.

The Japanese was noticed by a number of citizens, including a prominent clergyman, this morning. Some of the observers stopped and watched him take the photographs, but it did not dawn on them until later that the man might have any ulterior motive.

The clergyman happened along just before the Japanese disappeared and learned that the foreigner had taken nearly a dozen views of the building. The clergyman notified Burmeister.

While guardsmen resent the act of the Japanese, they fail to see how the photographs could prove of any material benefit to the Mikado's war department.
