STAND AGAINST MIXED MARRIAGES ENDORSED

County Auditor Otto A. Case already is receiving congratulations for his stand against issuing licenses for mixed marriage until after a thorough investigation of the family history of the applicants and into the eligibility of the witnesses. In his mail this morning, the auditor found the following communication from Marion Phillips, 147 Bertona Street:

"I see by the Seattle Times last evening that you had refused to grant a license to a Japanese and an American lady to wed. Let me, an old man, congratulate you on the stand you have taken in refusing to grant the license. I hope, for one, that you will not grant licenses to such couples unless you are forced to by a higher power.

"I can't think that the Creator ever intended that Mongolians and Caucasians should intermarry, and I am not alone in that belief."
