JAP "SLAVERS" HELD

Charged with violations of the interstate commerce act in bringing into this state Japanese women from San Francisco and Portland, Katsugora Asaba and Kenneosuke Nakano were committed to the county jail in bonds of $5,000 each by United States Commissioner W.D. Totten yesterday. The charges were preferred by the local branch of the immigration department and the prosecution is the first in this district since the passage of the new amendment to the interstate commerce act.
