HOME FOR JAPANESE GIRLS READY

Woman's Baptist Missionary Union Meets in Dunlap Church and Arranges for Dedication on August 18.

The home for Japanese girls, at the corner of East Fir and Spruce Streets, will be dedicated August 18 without a dollar indebtedness, if the plans outlined by Mrs. H.W. Foster, who made a report on the home to a meeting of the Women's Baptist Missionary Union in Dunlap Baptist church this morning are carried out. There is only about $700 due on the home and this will be raised by public subscription. A big reception will be given all Japanese of the city in the afternoon and evening of the day of dedication, the wives of prominent Japanese of the city acting as hostesses.

There are from thirty-five to forty Japanese girls at the home most of the time and the institution has been self-supporting since last October. The Japanese of the city donated more than $2,000 to the home.

This afternoon, devotional exercises were conducted by Rev. James Cairnes, a report of the women's meetings in Portland was made of Mrs. E.T. Durant, and a report of the general convention in Portland was made by Rev. Wadsworth.
