Tokyo Rose Wants To Return to U.S.

YOKOHAMA, Nov. 6. -- (AP) -- Tokyo Rose, the wartime radio Tokyo broadcaster who sank more fleets than America ever built, wants to go home to the United States.

The United States Consulate here said she had applied for entry and her case "is being processed in the same way as thousands of others." The final decision will be made in Washington.

The Los Angeles-born woman, whose maiden name was Iva Toguri, applied for entry as Iva D'Aquina, using the family name of her Portuguese husband. Held for a time in Sugamo prison, she was released October 25, 1946, for lack of evidence.
