W.R.A. HERE TO SHUT UP SHOP

The Pacific Northwest area headquarters of the War Relocation Authority was packing its records and equipment here today, preparatory to closing the office permanently tomorrow, it was announced by Irving Lechliter, acting supervisor.

The area office supervised the evacuation from the Northwest of thousands of Japanese-Americans and enemy aliens during the war. Since the war's end, it has assisted in relocation of many of them.

Subordinate W.R.A. offices in Tacoma, Yakima and Portland, Or., closed within the past few weeks. The existence of the W.R.A. is scheduled to end nationally June 30.
