Disposition Of Disloyal Japs Should Be Told

Latest news reporting the status of some 6,000 Japanese nationals avowedly loyal to Japan, who have been interned at Tule Lake, Calif., emanated from Washington, D.C., on September 4.

Dispatches disclosed that wartime orders excluding persons of Japanese ancestry from West Coast areas were completely revoked, effective at midnight of that date. The announcement, issued by the War Department, included a statement that the Tule Lake Japs then were under jurisdiction of the Department of Justice.

The Japs interned at Tule Lake made no secret of their hostility to the United States and their loyalty to Japan. Their number included some of American birth who renounced their American citizenship.

Since September 4, as far as is known here, neither the Department of Justice nor any other agency of government has made any further announcement as to what disposition will be made, or is being made, of these enemy aliens.

The Pacific Coast would like to know more about this situation.

Have any of these Tule Lake Japs been sent to Japan, where they belong?

If not, when does the United States government plan to deport them to the country of their avowed allegiance?

The Pacific Coast's curiosity is aroused. What about those disloyal Tule Lake Japs?
