Amendment to Exile All Japs Proposed

GRESHAM, Or., March 14. -- (AP) -- A constitutional amendment permitting expulsion of all Japanese from the United States is the objective of Oregon Property Owners' Protective League, Inc.

The course was set by George H. Crandell, Seattle attorney, as keynote speaker at an anti-Japanese mass meeting of 600 persons in Gresham Union High School last night.

Crandell said the amendment would be in line with the Exclusion Act of 1880, which was based on a theory that Japanese could not become good citizens of the United States, either by birth or by naturalization.

An unannounced number of persons paid a $10 initiation fee and pledged monthly dues of $1, unofficials estimates placing the enrollment as "between 350 and 400." A.E. McCroskey, Seattle advertising man, has been engaged as organizer.
