Neighbors Friendly, Says Returned Japs
PORTLAND, Or., Jan. 17.--(AP)--Three Japanese-Americans, back in the Hood River Valley -- focal point of much anti-Japanese activity -- yesterday reported a "more-than-gracious" welcome from their farmer-neighbors.
Ray Sato and Sat Noji of Parkdale and Min Assi of Barrett told the War Relocation Authority office here they had started pruning their 40- and 80-acre orchards with friendly encouragement from nearby farmers.
