Hood River Probes 'Threat' to Japs

HOOD RIVER, Or., Jan. 12.--Law-enforcement officials today were investigating reports that Hood River residents were preparing to meet Japanese-Americans in an effort to dissuade them from staying in the area.

Meanwhile the American Legion Post was preparing to conduct a county-wide poll to determine public opinion on the question of allowing the Japanese to return.
