HAWAIIAN JAPANESE COMING TO VANCOUVER

HONOLULU; Friday, Sept. 13. -- The Barenson-Hibbard steamship Indiana sailed from Honolulu for Vancouver September 6 with 300 Japanese laborers. The mission of the Indiana in taking away Japanese laborers is not looked on kindly by the plantation interests, and every obstacle is put in the way of its getting passengers of this type. The local papers scarcely mention the Indiana or her object in the general policy of undemonstrative opposition to her mission.

The Japanese government seems also opposed to the migration of her people from here to British Columbia, for the consuls here and at Vancouver have industriously disseminated stories of difficulties encountered by the Japanese going from here, both in landing and getting employment afterward.
