Think This Over

Isn't it something to think about that even when our boys are in the air that they must be segregated? It is a known fact that when a man is properly trained be he colored or be he white "accuracy" is the main objective of good army pilot. And when in the air who could tell whether the pilot be colored or white? A bomb dropped from a place piloted by a Negro can do just as much damage as one dropped by a white man.

Today the Japanese are piloting airplanes successfully and believe it or not they are making American white men take notice. Their color does not impede their success. Negroes are being trained in aviation and fitted to cope with bomber in this world war. It is the duty of all American citizens to join in the fight of Down With Segregation. Let all American citizens Fight for Right. Let fitness and experience have first place.

Can we conscientiously expect Negroes to give their all when they are not given permission to fight as men but are constantly reminded: "Remember you are a Negro; thus far can you go and no farther."

Negro men and Negro women today are willing to give everything to aid in this great world war not as underlings but as American citizens.

There are many authentic instances in the National Defense program which come to your mind as you look over the newspapers of the last months in which men of the colored race have been humiliated and subjected to unnecessary insult because of their having been born of Negro parents.

The world history teaches the Black men throughout the ages have been supermen in war, in church, in building empires, in science, navigation and all outstanding pursuits of civilized peoples.
