Dear Francis Edith Haglund . . . . . (the best darn science teacher there is . . . .)

Greetings once more from this side of a crazy world . . . boy it seems like and must be ages since my last letter . . . sorry for playing Hooky for so long . . . . .

Well here I'm an orphan . . . believe it or not the Second Battalion has just called it . . . 30 . . . . and along with it goes the GREAT F Company after 3 glorious years Fox Company has finally deactivated and now no one but the colors stand

All of us who have been through combat and been through it all under the colors of Fox Company sure feel helpless and sad . . . . we threw a final farewell party and we all cried our hearts out . . . . we had the best $$ company in the Regiment and now it sure is hard to believe its [sic] gone . . . . . . .

Well most of the boys are going into companies of the 100the Bn. yours truly is attached to the Information and Education department of the Regiment . . . I'm to be a member of a 3 man lecture team that goes around trying to present topics on current events . . homefront news . . . advice on how to get an education . . . . very interesting work . . . and they name it . . . . "Bull Sessions" . . . . . ahem . . . .

Besides the lectures old basketball keeps me pretty busy . . . the team won the mythical crown yesterday . . . we sport a record of 9 victories against 1 defeat . . . don't ask me how the later slipped in there . . . . . we're to play the All-Stars for the zone championship and when we pull through that its [sic] on to Rome or Naples for the theatre championship . . . and then . . . well lets [sic] not gon [sic] on to

. . how about me dissecting that $$$$$$ frog for you

that . . . anyway wish us Midgets lots of luck . . . and say a prayer for the All-Stars . . . . .

Well enough of the chatter from Italy . . . and lets [sic] talk about Detroit's and Cannon Falls [sic] pride and joy . . . . . how are things with you and hope all is well . . . not having too much trouble with tomorrow's brain trust's [sic] are you??? – ah but what lovely trouble . . . . oh yes sah . . . . . . if you can't find enough time for all of them just ship them over here and I'll see to it they get plenty of very personal attention . . . .

Give my kisses to Jane May June and Bette . . . . .

Holy cow . . after such a long absence I still haven't much to say . . . goes to show you not too much happens around here . . . . .

Well then till another time . . . take it slow and don't be too rough on the crew . . . . .

Till tomorrow then . . . .

Swishingly,

Bull

PS . . am enclosing an interesting study of what is described as "Natures [sic] Greatest Blunder" . . . . or "An Upheavel [sic] From the Ape" . . . . .
