Dear Miss Haglund,

With great regret I have decided, at least for the present, to publish an edited & revised copy of "Service with the WRA" & combine it with "Behind Barbed Wire."

A few suggestions were made how it might be improved with which I heartily agreed, such as more photos & essays written by Evacuees such as nurses. At first I received qualified acceptance by some to write but later changed their minds. Then too the lady whom I had engaged to do the typing took a full time job & felt she would not have the time or energy to do my typing.

About the first of the year I had an attack with arthritis of the spine which curtailed greatly my walking & getting around. Possibly, if the arthritis condition improves, I will go through with the project. Will keep in touch with you.
