Dear Miss Haglund,

Information given in the letters from your friend Lury has some very good leads. Enclosed are some copies of suggestions or guides to assist one in writing their "memoirs" of the period March 1942 to sometime in the 1946's. I have sent some to person I know. If you would write Dr. James M. Watanabe [address omitted], Spokane Wa. 99208 asking him to write his recollections it would be helpful. Lury did not indicate whether he was a physician at time of Relocation or a student.

I would be willing to write S. "Buddy" Irata at Portalnd who has a complete file of the Irrigator. Unless you know him & would prefer to write him.

I am particularly interested in learning the changes in attitudes on part of Evacuees at the various stages of the traumatic episode. I can well think of bitterness, disbelief, shock when Relocation was first announced & the very many changes in the attitudes as months dragged on. How much bitterness & resentment still exists, what should the government done differently, did evacuees differentiate the execution of the policies by the WRA staff from that of the Army?

Then there is Calvin Minomiya of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Would you like to write him or should I write him?

I will be attending the reunion in Seattle only if invited.

Sincerely,
George L. Townsend
